Prima Ballerinas

Prima Ballerinas I

Ages 5–6

Prima Ballerinas I is a joyful and imaginative introduction to Primary Ballet, thoughtfully designed to engage young dancers while building a strong foundation in dance technique.

​

In This Class, Dancers Will:

  • Be introduced to ballet barre and center work

  • Learn the five basic positions of the feet and arms

  • Develop coordination, balance, and musicality through structured ballet exercises​

 

Additional Dance Genres Explored:

  • Tap – Emphasizing sound clarity, rhythm, and timing

  • Tumbling – Strength-building through beginner acrobatic skills

  • Jazz – Expressive, high-energy movement

  • Hip Hop – Age-appropriate choreography with a fun, funky style

​

Important Enrollment Notes:

Enrollment in Prima I Combo is required for students in this age group to participate in other dance genres.

 

Dress Code

For Ballet

  • Pink Leotard w/Tutu

  • Pink Convertible Tights

  • Pink Ballet Shoes

  • Hair pulled back neatly away from the face​

For Other Genres

  • Tap: Black Tap shoes

  • Jazz: Tan Jazz shoes

  • Hip Hop: Sneakers

  • Tumbling: Fitted, flexible clothing and bare feet or jazz shoes

Prima Ballerinas II

Ages 7–8

​

Primary Primas II is an engaging class designed to deepen young dancers’ ballet foundation and introduce a variety of styles. Ideal for dancers with beginner experience or those ready to grow.

​

In This Class, Dancers Will:

  • Practice barre and center work

  • Build turnout, flexibility, coordination, and spatial awareness

  • Learn ballet technique and body alignment

  • Begin using French ballet terminology and musicality

 

Additional Dance Genres Explored:

  • Tap – Rhythm, timing, and sound clarity

  • Jazz – High-energy movement and expressive performance

  • Tumbling – Strength and control through beginner acrobatics

  • Hip Hop – Fun, upbeat street-style dance

 

Important Enrollment Notes:

  • Enrollment in Prima II Ballet Combo is strongly recommended.

  • Ballet is required to participate in Lyrical classes.

  • Purple leotard and skirt

  • Skin-toned convertible tights

  • Tan Hanami Ballet Shoes

  • Hair pulled back neatly away from the face

For Other Genres

  • Tap: Tan Tap shoes

  • Jazz: Tan Jazz shoes

  • Hip Hop: Sneakers

  • Lyrical: Half Sole

  • Tumbling: Fitted, flexible clothing and bare feet or jazz shoes
